Stephens Scholarship Update

The Stephens Scholarship Committee wants to thank everyone who donated, contributed and/or participated in making The Stephens Scholarship golf outing a huge success again this year. We raised $11,000.00, of that $7,600.00 went directly into the fund. With the continuing support of the Industry, we should hit our goal in the next couple years. At that time the fund should be able to sustain itself and generate enough money to continue giving $1000.00 to $2,000.00 away each year and possibly exceeding those amounts. But we can’t accomplish this without the generosity of everyone that contributed and participated. Thank You all one again and we look forward to next year’s event. This year we awarded Jeffery Kopp, of Lecanto, Florida with a $1,500.00 check. Jeffery is going to attend the University of South Florida to study “Structural Geology”.

“Thanks Dave [Keres] and the Scholarship Committee, I really wanted to thank you and the scholarship fund again for gifting me with this amazing scholarship. I just started with geology classes today and I’m very excited to move past the introduction phase into the real learning. I want you to know that this scholarship is a huge help to me and will help me cover the several hundred dollars for books along with the cost of food and parking on campus, things that would have otherwise depleted the funds that I had saved for college. I will definitely be applying again in the future, and I hope that the fund and the scholarship continue to help out students on their way to college, just like it did for me. Thank you so very much, -Jeffrey Kopp”
